hi probably a silly question but.... my son always has stiff salty hair after he sweats can this just be normal or is it maybe the salty sweat that cf people have? it is really stiff like if i put gel in it.

Yep, that's the good old "faulty salt transport" CF symptom!
My son't hair gets that way all the time,,,basketball, riding his bike, running, or just because it's summer time!
He also forms salt crystals around his hair line. You can actually wipe the salt off of his skin. That's what builds up in their hair.
And if he has cried for any reason he has white salt drip lines down his cheeks.

That's kinda funny cuz my son hardly sweats at all. Is that related to cf or is it cuz he's so skinny he has nothing keeping body heat in. Hmmm... I'll have to look the next time he sweats. Thanx for the heads up!

that used to happen to me when i was outside in the heat for a long time running around or playing sports or whatever...i have long hair so it was really just around my temples and sometimes at my hairline but i noticed it a lot on my arm hair. after working out i can brush off my arms and it looks like there's powder coming off from the salt buildup.
