STILL NO BEDS!

ok things are getting pretty stupid here. this is the first time ive ever had trouble getting a bed. i still wont get a bed today and now the hospital has a code yellow, meaning there are no beds at all in the hospital anywhere and all the ambulances are on bypass. that probably means i wont get a bed for days now. ive been waiting since monday! thank god the cipro is starting to make me feel a teeny bit better but god, whats gonna happen next time i get really bad? ive lost over 20% in a week, A WEEK, and i cant get a damn bed!!! whats going to happen to all the other cfers if they get sick?

I HATE THIS STUPID CITY! I HATE THE WESTERN AUSTRALIAN GOVERNMENT! I HATE THE PEOPLE WHO ARE 'STEALING' HOSPITAL BEDS BECAUSE THEY REFUSE TO LOOK AFTER THEMSELVES.

amy, the money is there for more beds, its just this particular state government that was voted in refuses to admit there is a problem. no problem = dont have to spend money. they prefer to give themselves pay rises, fancy cars and holidays with the surplus money they are getting. they think that everything is running so smoothly that they can shut the main hospital in perth, RPH, down! hopefully next election they will be voted out. at least the other political party arent in denial. they admit there is a problem and they also strongly oppose the closure RPH.

i almost always do ivs at home jessi. i rarely ever go into hospital i hate it that much. but im just so sick and run down that i wont be able to cope at home.

The only problem with "socialized" healthcare is that every now and then a conservative government is elected. When that happens they make sure to ruin it just a little more, then people come to their senses and elect a better government that is left to clean up the conservative mess.

my thoughts too kjetil, although i wouldnt say its just conservative parties that mess it up, sometimes its the opposite as in the case of australia and its states. it seems to be that everytime labor gets in anywhere, they screw it up. they are the ones who started this whole mess years and years ago with the 'invention' of medicare. they have burdened everyone with that for all eternity now and everyone who gets into power, as you say, is left to clean up the mess the previous one left behind. socialised healthcare can work, it just needs to be done right and there needs to be more emphasis on subsidised healthcare rather than completely free healthcare.

It all goes down hill when health care is privatised. <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif" border="0"> Free health care is one of the things that put Norway on top of the UN rankings year after year. The problem is that coroprations are taking over more and more and geting more and more power over politicians, and having them ruin it for normal people to make a bit more money themselves.
