Stomach issues

So I went for an ultra sound and it showed no gallstones so I am not going at this time for a HIDA. But I am still having the issues. Major gas and discomfort as the day wheres on and as I am eating more. So yesturday I had just a little milk with my cereal and a small yogurt and not my usual multiple glasses or one tall glass of milk at lunch. And I did not have stomach problems yesturday. So my doc thinks maybe I am lactose intolerant and he said to stay away from dairy. Which is going to be SOOOOO hard!!!! Anyone else have this problem? He also said my daily intake of Miralax could be hard on the GI tract too and I did not take any yesturday and took mineral oil instead. So I am thinking maybe I will do Miralax only a few times a week? Anyone have opinons or suggestions!

IMO, I would talk with a GI specialist to see if that is the real issue. Or if there's a supplement you could take to counteract the effects of dairy -- lactaid...? Could also be reflux...

yeah CF Doc said I can take Lactaid Pills which I might look into but I think at least for awhile I am going to watch my lactose intake and see how my stomach behaves. Going to be so hard cause I am a dairy girl!

I also have difficulty "stomaching" milk. :) I noticed several years ago that when I would drink milk it would often result in intense stomach aches/cramps and gas (sorry if too much info!). It was tough but I have not had milk for almost 2 yrs and the benefit of feeling better has been a blessing. Now I still have milk like in baked goods or my favorite Starbuck's every now and then-it is mainly when I chug it that I notice symptoms. FWIW, I supplement calcium.
