I had a stress test yesterday for my cardio/pulmonary rehab. I thought my chest and my knees were going to explode. I guess I did okay... figure I will hear the final results (including blood work) later on this week from CF doc. I thought they were going to drain my blood from my body... they took tons!!
Anyone else do a stress test??

I had a stress test a few years before being diagnosed. (I had been shoveling snow and thought I was having a heart attack,) I did really well, and the doc said no follow-up. I regularly walk on a treadmill, so I think that helped. BUT...that was before CF meds, and their side effects, like hurting joints, especially knees. Have not had to return, so I'm not sure what would happen today!

Yes, had a few of them done over the years.....one was done to see if my SVT was provoked by activity, and another was done because I had chest pain whenever I did anything strenuous. I wound up having a cardiac cath to check for blocked coronaries, turns out I have vaso spastic vessels (part of Ehlers Danlos), they basically constrict at will causing decreased blood flow to my heart hence the pain.....not fun, but at least my vessels were clear! Usually if anything serious turns out during the test, they let you know fairly quickly. Hopefully yours came out squeaky clean!

I don't think I've ever had a stress test. What does it consist of and what kind of assessment is performed?

I have one every year along with my anual check up. They do it to test my cardio/pulmonary function during exercising. I hardly make it through but i do. I think they exaggerate a bit having me do it once a year (dexa scan as well) but at least im glad i have normal scores. I hope your results are great too!
