stupid question?

Well since it is only ONE night, I honestly don't see an issue. (I just wouldn't let her sleep on the floor in THAT room).

My Mother-in-laws house has some mold issues and I have stayed there for 2 weeks before. It didn't bother me AT first, but after a week I didn't feel so great.

Also remember it depends on the KIND of mold. Mold is all around us sometimes aren't harmful and others are.

I agree. It's just best to be cautious. I think you are right, his reaction is coming from his own embarassament. It's a no-win situation - somebody feels bad either way. But, you have to do what you have to do; and that's protecting your child. It's crappy, but stick to your guns, and know that we are behind you!
