Oh Bonnie - what a tough position to be in! I hope you're able to find a suitable med for breastfeeding, but if not, I can say that weaning is hard, but I feel the younger the baby the easier it is and the quicker they forget about it, so I guess you have that on your side. I think once you make a decision about your meds, you can start introducing formula. Prepare to be uncomfortalbe for a few days - I have read sticking cabbage leaves in your bra can help. I hope everything works out for you and the baby for the best! (((HUGS)))

get ready for your boobs to hurt <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0"> it wasn't as bad as i thought. i would wait as long as i could take it, then i would pump a tiny bit just to make them feel better. i also put a heating pad on them. they hurt for about three days and i leaked so much, i went through tons of nursing pads.

i mixed breastmilk with formula for two bottles, then morgan took formula fine. it was hard at first getting her to sleep because i would always nurse her to sleep. she still roots to this day to fall asleep. the other day she spit her paci out and sucked my arm. she sucked so hard i had a hicky.

well i hope everything works out and you get everything taken care of.

I'd suggest you try metoprolol. If it works your infant is much better off. Otherwise a trial of low dose propranolol at bedtime might be suitable. '</end quote></div>

I'm going to ask about it as an alternative. Found an article that says new beta blocking drugs do not cause bronchiospasm, it's the older ones that do.

Thanks.
