Sugar

For the first time in years, my blood glucose has come back normal! I have been borderline for years (with very stern looks from my doctor), so I am so happy to have one less thing to worry about now

I was talking with someone awhile ago about sugar, and she was telling me how bad it is for your body in general, so I decided to try cutting back (something my doctors have been trying to get me to do for years).

I was eating about a 2 bags of candy every week (like the M&M pounder bags), and Coke to boost. I cut the candy out and replaced with nuts and pretzels (I can't work and not snack).

I won't say I noticed all the things my friend was talking about, but I don't wake up groggy anymore, and I haven't had my blood sugar drop for a couple of months!

Anyway, I thought I'd share. It has put me into motivation mood for being healthy, and I believe I really WILL ride my bike tonight!

Now I just have to work on my calcium - vit D is at 7

That is great Barb! Good for you. I am a candy-holic too so understand how hard it is to give up.

YAY for healthy!

That is awesome. CONGRATS! I am truly happy for you - I know the blood sugar thing is a complete pain (coming from a diabetic lol). Congrats again and keep up the great work.

I was recently told by my doctor that I am borderline diabetic also. I had to give up SweeTarts. They are my FAVORITE candy. I was so upset, but I packed all the candy up and sent it to my sister's house and some people at work. It was hard, but I had to do it. You're in good company. I feel your loss. I'm so glad to know that you are doing better.

Thanks guys! I gave up M&Ms and Skittles (yes, I ate them together). I have fond memories of them, but don't miss them as much as I thought I would.
