Suggestions to keep my baby healthy

Bathrooms and the kitchen sink are where I focus my cleaning efforts. And we are installing a bathroom fan that will actually work. I use hydrogen peroxide in the sinks, lysol wipes on the bathroom counters and Seventh Generation products on both. We also wipe down door knobs and light switches, cell phones and remotes quite frequently with lysol wipes. I have gotten rid of all things bleach because I learned on Dr. Oz that it is one of his "major agers" as it irriates/damages the lungs. Also just purchased a blue air purifier cause its winter and the air gets kinda stale in our house.
I love reading everyone's ideas though. Rejuvenates me when I start slacking a bit.

I agree that hard floors are much better than carpets, given a choice. They are so much easier to keep clean (especially if you have pets and/or your child has allergies) and there are some good options out there now to keep the floors sanitized that are quick and convenient. (I really want one of those steam cleaners. One I saw has a detachable end that can be used on bathroom surfaces, etc. I love that idea.)

Wiping down the computer mouse and keyboard, remotes, light switches, doorknobs, phones and keys- yes, little things to do but can kill so many bugs. Washing hands when coming home from somewhere, and when the older kids get home from school & playdates, will help too.

For cleaning I try to avoid the really smelly stuff, too. I use some bleach products in the bathroom but not when Emily is home. In the kitchen I try to find disinfecting sprays or wipes that don't smell too bad. I really like 'Simply Green' for a lot of cleaning purposes since it's nontoxic and biodegradable, but in stronger concentrations as needed for tougher cleaning jobs Emily really hates the smell so I don't use that when she's home, either.
