I think for me I would have chosen Zyvox and Cipro as that combination of oral meds worked fantastic for me pre transplant.

That being said I am going to be the party pooper as well. I would just NOT push yourself too far. I made the mistake of doing that for the same reason you are ... a nonrefundable trip we were set to go on. I ended up in the hospital the day after I got back from my trip and it kicked off a downward spiral for me which put me on the OR table literally 2 years to the week later for my transplant.

I am not saying that to terrify you I am just putting it out there because I thought nothing of it to put off a hospital stay until I look back on it and regret it every time I think about it cause you never know what things could have been different.

So yeah ... I am glad you are getting meds ... hoping they work but try not to wear yourself down too much just for a vacation. I can totally understand the frustrations and wanting to go but think if it is REALLY worth it in the long run.
