I definitely think a trip to emergency would be necessary, as its better to be safe than sorry!!
I hope its not anything to serious and I hope it isn't c/f.

Thanks for all the responses. Sorry it took me so long to get back on. We were in the process of moving and just finally got back online this morning.

My brother took my nephew to the ER regarding the sunken chest issue. The drs response was that it was not that one side of his chest collasped, but rather that the other side had swollen really big due to muscles pulled in a coughing fit. He said because the other side was swollen, it gave the appearance of the other side being collasped... The dr blew it off as not a big deal. Now, my thought is, even if the dr is right, why is this child coughing so hard that he is pulling muscles in his chest bad enough to make his chest swell up???? Isn't that a little odd?

My brother and his wife say they are taking him back to the dr in a couple of weeks and will ask for a sweat test again. Personally I think they are in as much denial as the drs are and they aren't really pushing it. I think they are scared to find out. And I understand that fear, but it's not fair to the baby. It's hard being in this position. I push and push because I really think he needs tested, but at some point I have to back off because I start feeling like they think I WANT him to have CF. That's is the furtherest thing from the truth, but I know how much better he will feel once he is being treated if he does have it.

Again, thanks for all your replies.
