Sweat test 39/35

My son's sweat tests were 29 and 47. I was told at a cf clinic that patients with those numbers do not have cf and we were blown off. Finally after a year, we have an appointment at another cf clinic for further testing. Don't give up. I intend to keep pushing until I know one way or the other.

So I had to finally post here. My son is Owen <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0"> and he has had sweat tests with 38 results. Hmmm. Weird. He is PI and has had lots of lung infections, sinus infections, bloody noses etc. He did have one panel tested and it was negative for mutations. We are hoping to to the Ambry test along with Pancreatic testing there. We are also going to a CF clinic here to culture as well.
Have you learned anything else? I would love to hear more...

This friday we went for a last test to confirm Zuzanna has no cf. Her older sister has - no symptoms though.
She had a IRT, genetic test and sweat test. All came out good. The genetic test was also done - she is a carrier. Her sweat test was 30.
I guess the safets way is to get a genetic test- if the muatations in your family are known. At least that is what we get here. Acctually all family memmbers are encouraged to have a genetic test in our case.
Make sure to rule out cf for 100%

Hey Aleksandra, I am glad to read your post. We took our son in today for his sweat test. His newborn screen showed a little elevated IRT (72) and then the basic genetic panel found 1 gene mutation (DF508). Now we had the sweat test today and the result was 30, just like your little girl. He has zero symptoms so I am still really praying he's just a carrier.
