I've got to wash my Iaido uniform almost after every practice in the summer because the black hakama (Old-style Japanese pants) turns white near the legs where I sweat the most (and it soaks it up!). Sometimes, I have to even wash the handle of my sword, cause it turns so white!! Though most swords these days have the handles wrapped in leather, I can't have that feature, or I'd be spending hundreds on it being re-wrapped every year (cause it turns colors and will become brittle and break)!
I even have to be aware of when my jeans, work clothes etc., are showing a little whitish! There had been days were I was at work and had to work in a 40 degree celcius room for several hours (no A/C), and ended up changing by the end of the day! I did a short story of being in a sound room for that same temperater--might add it to my blog, but it's a little embarrasing cause I, well that's the embarrasing part!
My dad's mother (my grandma) was vebally direct and told me while I was still in my teens to "warsh" (her accent!) under my arms more often...
In the summertime (it gets REALLY hot here) I just throw my shirts in the laundry daily, but throw my pants (slacks, jeans) in if I had a heavy sweat, or because I usually wear them every other day I just throw it in after a few days. (I try not to overload the wife with too much laundry! )
However, with all that salt, you end up becoming a salt-lick for you dog, horse, bird, or whatever likes the salt!!
