<P>Could be but I would think it would have more to do with the immune system being compromised post-transplant.</P>

<P>Anyways I started swimming when I was about 3 (one of the few who was actually forced to do it, but now I realize its benefits) and continued until about the end of high school. Back then in my area all the swim teams had pools outdoors, so that was primarily where I trained. </P>

<P>Now though I swim at 24 hour fitness, which only has an indoor pool. I have yet to culture any new bacteria. Just make sure to keep up with your childs cultures and it should be fine. My doctor told me public pools are usually better maintained than private pools as well, which means less chance of culturing something new. </P>
