swimming with a picc

I am not looking forward to telling Andrew his first month out of school has to be spent out of the pool. Is it at all possible to swim while you have a picc? Are there any covers out there that are so waterproof that pools are safe?

Has anyone used a shower cover and just sat in the pool with their arm laying out over edge?

I can keep him home and out of the pool, but it's going to make him hate this line even more. If we can make a few changes and incorporate the picc line into this activity, it would be so nice for him!

If he does get the PICC wet, though, make sure you clean it and change the dressing right away.
