We always used the bribe method. Emily got to pick a new toy if she was a good girl. That worked when she was little until she was old enough to understand that clinic was important for her to stay as healthy as possible.
On a similar note, when flu shot time came around, Doctor Dolan used to do hers and she would scream then until finally one year.....he said I'm not doing this anymore and he handed off the needle to one of the nurses. and he never did a flu shot again. He said he didn't want to be the reason a child was crying. He wanted them to be happy when he saw them and after that Emily loved seeing Dr. Dolan until his retirement.

is there anything that can be done at home, our sons nurse often comes to our home,to collect pooh samples and cough swabs, and im sure she could take blood if necsesary.we have a health visitor who comes and weighs or son. I guess what I'm saying is that you cuold lighten what happens at clinic and get some done at home, where they are more at ease.
