Testing your blood sugars

We have been testing Reeces' blood sugar. We were told to call the CF clinic if the number goes 200 or above. This morning one hour after his tube feeds ended I tested him...it was 192!

Obvisouly they are high but what are the ranges he should be in? We were not told this. So I guess I need to call the doc Mon. morning, but thought I would ask here first. Are they different in CFers? Thanks!

I have been told that "normal" blood sugars are 70-120. If you took it one hour after his feeding, don't worry about it. You are normally supposed to test 2 hours after meals. Don't freak out too much about it, just call the doctor as requested if it goes over 200.

Thanks...we were told to test it 1 hour after tube feeds & 2 hours after dinner. His lowest was 97 & highest after the 197 has been 164 with an average of 135. I really dont want to deal with CFRD right now.....ugh<img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-sad.gif" border="0">
