Dear fellow CF families,

I wanted to say "thank you" to folks who responded to my post about six weeks concerning my son, 14 months old at the time, who was having difficulty gaining weight. Aidan is also allergic to dairy and soy, and we were struggling getting his weight up and his team was considering the feeding tube. I felt like the dietician wasn't being helpful, and asked for some feedbac/advice from the message board....well, using some of the GREAT advice I got here (adding olive oil and coconut oil to his food, consulting with another dietician) I am thrilled to report that at Aidan's clinic visit today, he was at 50% weight for height....of course I know weight is an on-going issue and I'm not against a g-tube if it's what we eventually need, I just want to say "thanks" to all ......I think this site is often more helpful than the "professionals." I hope I can return the support/favor at some time in the future.

All the best to you and your families,
Ginger

I'm so glad that your son is gaining weight. I have to agree that this site is amazing.

I know you'll be able to "return the favor", because new families will come along, and you'll have been there and done that. <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">

Hi,

I am a mother of an 1 yo boy FC: Antonio. We are brasilian and had never heard about CF till the it tested positive thought "little feet test" (a poor translation of the name of test brasilian babies used to do after being born)at august, 8th 2009.

I got emotioned when reading your thanks messege. God bless Aidan.

We already had our "bad moment"... We spent Antonio's 1st christmas at the hospital... and it was very happy because at christmas eve he was out of danger.

I am glad I found this site, we know so little about "Antonio's special caracteristics".

I will read other topics, but I wanted to wish Aidan well!

Our Best!
Helena, Antonio's mother
