UGGG.. I have been real tired lately, today, I dictched work and slept most of the day.. I just felt real tired but not coughing or sick at all.. well I woke up from my nap.. and blammmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.. I have a fever and a cough that is horrible.. I can't stop coughing.... (productive to)

My conclusion is that while I was sleeping, someone dumped a bucket load of goop into my lungs....

Does this happen to any of you, one minute you are fine the next you have a fever and cough..out of no where???

I've had that happen to me a couple of times. I get a bit run down like tired, and so I take a nap and wake up with a sore throat, cough and fever. Me getting run down first though is usually a single that something nasty is on the way.

I think you are like me. When I am on the go & dont "relax" my body cant get the message thru that there is something wrong. As soon as I wind down &/or take a nap the problem hits. It can be hemoptysis, fevers etc. I bet that you were already sick & taking that nap just gave your body a chance to get the alert together to yell......HELP!

hmm, well i would definatly have to say this has happened to me multiple times. this is why i rather sleep in late & get extra sleep then taking a nap.. i hate it when that happens to me. also, naps reeeeally ruin my sleep time at night & i can never get to bed if i take a nap. but i hope you feel well<3 IB profuen usually helps me... xo!

I always feel more gunky after I wake up (from a nap or overnight sleep). I think it's cuz I go for hours without coughing...or at least not the type of coughing I do when I'm awake.

Hope you feel better soon, Jennifer!

I agree with Amy on being more congested when I first wake up. Normally though I get hit with being sick if I haven't slept or have overworked myself - and not once I slow down after I slow down I usually start to feel better.

I hope you start feeling better though. Well wishes and will be thinking of ya ... hoping you can kick the nasty bug that is messing with you.

Thanks guys.. You may be right, I may be more congested because I was in bed so long, that makes a lot of sense. I just am so wiped out, I have been going crazy, the past few months, between getting ready to graduate, graduating, I am now taking a reveiw class for my boards that I am taking at the end of the month, in addition to buying a house...

GOsh no wonder I am tired, Today when I woke up, I still have a fever and my cough sounds like the Fed EX man came and gave me another delivery of gunk to my lungs..

I think you guys are right, this was the first chance my body got to rebel. Is the moral to the story, never give my body a chance to rest so it can't catch up to me???? HMMM something to think about, except I think i would last all of three days and then I would drop.

Thanks so much for the advice and support I have grown to depend on,

Jennifer

Sounds like you're doing too much too fast. You've got tons on your plate, wow. I know when my body wants to sleep a lot, it means something. Either I need sleep to fight a cold that's on its way, or something is out of wack. If it goes on maybe you should see your doc and get everything checked out. For me as well, the mornings or when I first wake up is always the most cough productive b/c all that junk has been sitting still for 8 hours. once you move and get up is when it all starts irritating you again.

Good luck Jennifer.

Jennifer I've thought that too, don't rest and give your body a chance to tell you how it feels!!!!! I swear it's only when I finally relax and am ready to fall asleep that I cough up blood!!!! Sometimes I would rather stay awake!!!!!

Hope you feel better soon<img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">

when I nap I get gunky lungs. Husband and I call it 'nap lungs' They seem worse after a nap than a night's sleep for sure. It's one of those things that makes me wonder if I didn't work if I'd be not as healthy because napping makes my lungs feel ucky.

well i didn't read all the replies to this-so maybe someone else said this-but, many mnay times I have gone to take a nap and awoken with a fever. i know the body temp naturally goes up when we sleep-but this has been a real fever.

i think its b/c my body goes into to rest mode and says-ok, now we can work on this infection here, and it starts a fever, which we know comes to kill bad bacteria.

this is my theory and i'm stickin to it
