The Death Sentence

<div class="FTQUOTE"><begin quote>I also want to say for my sake that I agree with Emily and Lilith and whomever else that avoiding the topic of death altogether is creating a ridiculously false reality for yourself. When I first started dating my girlfriend, one of the first things out of my mouth was "listen, I ain't gonna last as long as you." It is something that needs to be addressed. </end quote></div>

Thank God for people like you. I assumed it was a given that all people with CF were upfront about it in relationships, since Ry was the same, he made sure to get that out of the way right off. It makes me feel really bad for the girl/boyfriend when the person tries to hide something that important.

God. What ever happened to people posting on here about CF related problems, instead of people coming on here and saying what we should or shouldn't talk about. So we talk about death on here. Big deal, its a part of life, everyone thinks about it, but some are more vocal about it then others. Death doesn't equal unhappiness. I have a happy life, but I talk about death a lot because that's how I deal with it - I get my fears out there in the open and deal with them. I hate the fact that death seems to be such a taboo topic. Maybe if more people talked about it, and joked about it it wouldn't be such a scary topic to deal with. I don't understand someone starting a thread and critizing people about talking about death.

i think that renegade doesnt understand that we dont sit around all day thinking about death. we dont go to work and talk about death. we dont sit down with our families and friends and just discuss death. we come on this site because these people understand and if this is the only place we talk about this then what's the problem?
