I am 48
Female
Massachusetts
Age 2 diagnosis
Severe
I am not depressed but have been . It seems to come and go with severity of hospitalization and seems directly related to hospitalizations. Long stays in , or axiety problems. Fears of feeling out of control.
My depression has been Fair. I would say because I use methods of relaxation , or distraction, meditation, socialization all these things make me feel better. It wasn't until anxiety popped up it's ugly head later years did I start taking med for anxiety. The axiety seems to speed up the process of depression for me.

I feel like there are sufficient resources as long as I am verbal about my needs, and resourceful. ie. Holistic approaches, social service, psychiatry.

Depression definately has a negative effect on CF. In my years I have seen friends with CF fail very quickly with Depression.

Depression does run in my family but I feel like I for one have a good handle on it when it arises. I know that is not always the case. Having family members with it makes me more attentive to possibilities of it arising.

Good luck with your study.
