Hey does Mary Kay carry a line of lipstick and facial powder for when my oxygen gets real low and my lips and cheeks turn blue? I'd be interested in that.

Her benefit package did include insurance. That was not the problem. They decreased sick days from 10 to 5. She goes to clinic five days per year. Vacation went from 2 weeks to one week. She knew that she would be off at least that much because of her illness. MK offers insurance to National directors and that is her goal. Believe it or not, they have life insurance for all directors. They are presently trying to work on some type of insurance plan for directors to purchase. A great company, really. Let me know if you want more info.

Sorry lady, I teach computer applications and sometimes I think much faster than I type, for my mind races to what to do next.

I am sorry if I offended anyone on this forum. I am legit. I simply was reading the forum concerning recent CF research and while doing so thought I would share my daughter's experience in a career. If I could help only one person find a tool to feel better about themselves and make some money, that would be a plus. If you will check me out, you will find that my family has raised over 750,000.00 for CF research in our very small rural community. In addition, my daughter is a regulary speaker to interns majoring in pulmonoly. To say we have been devoted to helping to find a cure for this disease would be an understatement.

Mary Kay's phylosophy is and always has been "God first, Family Second, and Career Third." I simply mentioned it because I think that it is a wonderful concept. Yes, I need my family but FIRST I need my faith in God. It is only through God that I have been able to raise a 22 year old daughter to be confident ande persistent with managing her disease. I am thankful to have a family that believes the same.

You can check my daughter's website if you so desire. You can also check out her credintials. Go to www.marykay.com/randi_123

I could also send you to many places on the web that would "prove" that we are legit. But, something tells me you guys are really worth my time. However, I will simply add this to life experiences.

By the way, I was not trying to "profit" from my posting. I would simply direct any interested party to a nearby director. It's called "Go-Give" in Mary Kay. In the outside world you might call it volunteering to help others.

You are right about the work. Thankfully Randi has done much of the work at home and built a really great team of women who also want to work. And, what is good for some people might not be for others. I am encouraged by your reply.

Who ever said God cared about Mary Kay or for that matter Avon. God cares for people and provides avenues for his people to be successful. Gifts from God come in many different ways, such as healthy and unhealthy children. I had one of each and count each one as a gift from God. I don't think I will be using this forum in the future. Talk about tearing words and thoughts apart....

Hi,

Thanks for sharing your story about how successful your daughter is at selling Mary Kay. From what you have said, your family has done a real lot to raise money for CF. That is wonderful.

I know you are new to this forum and when you don't know the "rules" so to speak you can get people who get snippy about it. Not anyone in general, just saying.

Thing is, past history of this board, we have people pop on here, try to sell us stuff, like Manatech, etc, and then they vanish. It has left a lot of people skeptical. So being this was your first post and you not knowing any of that, you kind of got some backlash. Th e manager of the board is working really hard at having everyone feel welcome though, and many ppl did congratulate you and your daughter.. You can't really fault someone for being skeptical when they have been burned a lot. you know?

I am not saying you have to, but most people introduce themselves and establish some sort of relationship with the board first, many people on here don't agree with each other, but once a relationship is established, as long as no one is down right rude, usually people can talk more.

I am sorry Sue said that about your spelling, I stink at spelling and I was almost a 4.0 all the way through school.

About God, well thing is, a lot of ppl on here do believe in Him ( me included) but many people don't. and they get put off when they have to hear about something they don't believe in, just like I would if I had to hear over and over about how somone doesn't believe in God.

We have lots of strong personalities on this board and I love them all.

I think it was just a combo thing, God and then possibly looking like you are trying to promote Mary Kay. I am sorry, not that it matters what I believe but, I do think you were probably trying to give good advice.

The people on this board are really very supportive. I hope you hang around. I would love to hear how you guys raised so much money.

I personally couldn't sell Mary Kay products because I would use them all on myself and never make any money. HA

I think you should all read Tammy's replies, to see that you were all wrong in jugeing her.

Come on guy's you need to give new comer's a chance before BREATHING DOWN THEIR BACK.

I'm sorry Tammy, and hope you can come back to this site because everyone here is lovely and very supportive. I think we all just started on the wrong foot.

Tammy,

I am sorry for doubting you! I was not sure if it was someone spamming or not. We jumped to conclusions, and I apoligize for that!!

I am surprised to hear Mary Kay does give benefits. I assumed since they were independent contractors that no benefits would be given.

I did read all that your family does for CF. I wish I was organized enough to put on such big fundraisers!

This is just another example of the signal to noise ratio ragarding logic/predictable stupid on this site. I see her reply first, I say "Wow, I hope you are wearing flame retardant clothing", because I am fully aware what is coming her way, and that is all I say. My post is completely erased, and my prediction comes true just like I said it would. Meanwhile those who profess others to be drama farmers, n00b abusers, and trouble makers should feel scared to go outside during lightning storms for fear that even God himself won't tolerate such hypocrisy to go unsmitten.

(this will probably be erased also)

My only problem is the God reference, but that is MY problem & I dont think my responce was disrespectful. I dont use Mary Kay nor do I have an interest in doing so, but since she is Obviously legit it might be of help to someone else. As to the health insurance ?? thru MK....Tammy said that MK offers it to National Directors which is her daughters goal. I am sure i missed something in the thread, but I have a ?? about that. She still currently has insurance thru her former employer? Does/can she keep that until such time she is eligible for a National Directors position & then the coverage thru MK? If that happens will she then keep the first insurance? Whenever an opportunity arises I ALWAYS look at the insurance side of things because to ME that is THE most important factor!

I hope that the defensive nature doesnt scare you off, but sadly TOO many times people have used us as Pawns. We even had someone pretending to have CF & causing trouble. This is the internet & its hard to weed thru the bad ones at times.

BTW as Tammy mentioned her mind goes faster then her hands or vice versa which would allow mistakes in typing, spelling etc. Some of us judge based SOLELY on these factors & I dont think that is fair. I do the same thing quite often. I dont use my spell check. I dont keep my fingers & brain in line. If that is your peeve that I apologize for irritating you, but that is me!

My daughter RAndi is married and her husband has insurance through the state with his job. Therefore, the insurance wasn't the main problem with her former job, the days off were the problem. As you know, folks with CF sometimes just wear down and need a day off. Mary Kay does offer that luxury; she works in her pajamas when necessary. While the work with MK might be hard at times, the benefits that she receives are numerous. She has made many friends that are very supportive of her life and she has also inspired many women to achieve their dreams. My husband and I raised both are children to optimistic, dependable, couragious and faithful to their dreams and their goals. While God my be a "bad" subject too many people, it is not to me. While raising my daughter I had many dark moments because when somehting is wrong with your child, it affects you in the deepest part of your heart. However, I think that God sends angels our way to test us and to strengthen us. Randi was our Angel and continues to be today. She has given us much courage as a family and as individuals. We are all human beings and are very imperfect. However, it is good for ME to know that whenever I am at my lowest points in life, I can always depend on God to strengthen me and to help me through my darkest hours. This is something that no human can do for another human, totally.

When Randi was born, I did ask Why? But that passed too, very quickly. That quickly changed to Why not me? God has provided me the emotional tools that I need to face the valleys we all have in life and to be excited on the mountain tops as well. Have a good day. I am new to this forum but I am not sure I can hang around so many people with negative feelings. You are who you hang around. I prefer to hang with people who are not quick to judge and who are optimistic about life, not matter what life throws there way. By the way, the after-transplant joke was simply rude and offensive to anyone who has ever experienced that operation.

My God, I say one comment EVER that could have been taken mean and I get singled out by name with Julie and then made fun of. Now I know what people mean when they say this site makes them feel bad.

Sue 24w/CF

For Tammy and Tammy only, I am truly sorry for the comment about spelling. I did think you taught school and thought it was funny but only because I was upset about the spam thing. But it was mean and there is not excuse for that so I am sorry
