Since it was quiet I went into the ''meeting room'' that the CF trust in the UK run, and I was quickly reminded as to why I now use this forum, as the UK one is utter s@@#, and so lame.

Has anyone here had experience of other forums, either good or bad?

The UK one is brilliant...maybe it is quiet on occasion, but there are a far smaller proportion of cfers I guess in the UK. Anyway, I think "utter sh@@t" is a bit harsh.

If you want to watch people bitch and snipe all the time, though, there's no better place than here. Thoroughly entertaining to watch!!

I was meaning the layout and the use of it being s@@#e, the content is lame. Maybe I havent given it enough time.

I guess it depends on what you are looking for. There is more consistant action on here both with posts & the chatroom. I belong to another forum, but only check in. I dont really converse, post or respond much there! The other one is another US forum. Never been to any UK one!

I went to another CF forum based in the States I think, and honestly it seemed like a backwater CF forum. I've posted there a few times, and even the moderator who has kids with CF seemed really surprised by some of the things I had mentioned. Like she thought her kids would be sterile, etc, and common things about CF she had no clue about. Just stuff like that. Also it seems that people only post every couple of days or more, because I haven't been on in a week and there's only been one new post. I keep mentioning our site, but I'm not sure if anyone has "switched teams".

I think this is the most active forum I've ever been to. As well as the most controversial one. Definately keeps things interesting.

The UK forum I went to first was cool. But several of them were pretty hardcore anti-American, which could get old at times. And at some times the cultural differences were too stark to try and relate to. I think It was called meeting place or something. Other than those two issues, it was cool. Seems they have their own tight little clique goin on over there.
