This Hillrom Lawsuit

I got my paperwork for the Hillrom lawsuit today. I've thought about the pros and cons of joining/not joining this lawsuit and I have made my decision. I do think that Hillrom has GREAT customer service, and I have heard othing but positives from them from others as well, and Mark LOVES the vest. But not everyone is as fortunate as Mark and I are to have coverage of this vest. Part of the "settlement" of this lawsuit (including monetary settlements to those who use Hillrom products and CHOOSE to be part of the lawsuit) requires Hillrom to stop their illegal practices (listed in depth in the lawsuit, but too long for me to list here) whih will in turn LOWER the overall costs of all of their products. Maybe this will "help" insurance companies to offer coverage of this much needed product and the insurance companies will be more receptive to the price.

It's also worth noting that hillrom does not make ONLY the vest. THey also produce acute care beds and accessories, architectural products and accessories, bariatric beds, therapy products, ciruclatory systems, Healthcare furniture, incontinence management products, infant care products, in-Room products.... and about 25 more products listed on the sheet.

I'm just curious what others are choosing to do and the opinions behind those decisions.

I'm pretty surprised that I never received anything, I have had a very early model vest for a very long time that my insurance paid for (a REAL long time ago). So i'm shocked I never received anything, and i wonder why. How much does each individual stand to make if the lawsuit goes through?

I have also had my vest for a very long time and I have not gotten anything from Hill Rom either. Maybe it only involves the newer models.

It's for anyone who bought or has rented The Vest from Hill-Rom during the period of January 1990 through February 2006.
A copy of the Settlement Agreement is available at their web site: www.spartanburgclassaction.com

I still haven't decided anything......

Thanks Kelly, I must really be dumb today

I think I've made my decision but I'm not opposed to hearing other opinions. I don't want to make a Hasty decision but I do have my opinions about large companies which overcharge and or maniuplate the consumer, which are the charges being brought against them.

I never got the info in the mail either, and I qualify for that purchase time frame.

Ps-Who else out there had ever had the urge to correct a poster's grammar or misspelled words...come on...(I'm sure I'm guilty too of those sins)

I also qualify for that time frame on the vest, but having received anything yet.

BTW Christian.....I dont have the need to correct grammer or spelling. Its much easier for me to type without punctuation etc & yes, I will admit some of my spelling is poor, but I am not in school any longer. I do find it hard when certain phrases are used throughout a post to understand the post like: So wat r u guys dng 2nite 4 food. Itll be gr8t to go out & see ppl!

OMG IMO THAT IS 2 FUNNY....LOL!

Onward mate.....

I have that urge all the time, I am really anal about spelling... usually. So I guess I really am stupid today (I'm playing it safe now, words I KNOW how to spell -I think).

I had to go onto the website Kelly gave and requestd to be included in the mailing. This will also put your name into the "pool" for the lawsuit, but you CAN still opt out after you recieve the information. Plus, if the suit goes to court, you still have to fill out more paperwork to get your part of the settlement.

I would suggest if you are really interested in recieving the literature on the suit (which is more than what is on their website), visit the site and request it. You can always opt out in the end!!!

I hate that, so wt r u doin, crap. It was so big when I was youger and I HATED people who used it, I thought it showed a serious lack of education. My best friend uses it when she Text's me, which is a little more understandable because she doesn't have a keyboard on her phone, but on the computer, I think it's just plain lazy. Just my two cents though

u HATE it 2??
Looks like the jacket cover to a Prince Album!!
Most definitely helpful for mobile phones, but I got some animated icons I use, instead!
Though, I HAVE to be accurate on spelling, maybe that's why I'm so 'Analytical", eh Julie? Just call me, "Analytical Fred"!
My job requires precise wording, with proper spelling (In American English, preferrably, but I can learn the difference from Brittish English)
Thought the odd phrased wording was funny, so I had to throw in my two yen!! (not that it means as much!!)

I'm not usually somebody who points out spelling mistakes but it was just the irony of Julie's sentence! I couldn't resist! I always get 'miffed' when I see people mixing up they're, there, and their though. Lol

Don't worry, I wasn't at all offended and I don't think anyone else was either. I had a good laugh after you pointed it out. Just made me realize I needed a really long nap.
