I got my paperwork for the Hillrom lawsuit today. I've thought about the pros and cons of joining/not joining this lawsuit and I have made my decision. I do think that Hillrom has GREAT customer service, and I have heard othing but positives from them from others as well, and Mark LOVES the vest. But not everyone is as fortunate as Mark and I are to have coverage of this vest. Part of the "settlement" of this lawsuit (including monetary settlements to those who use Hillrom products and CHOOSE to be part of the lawsuit) requires Hillrom to stop their illegal practices (listed in depth in the lawsuit, but too long for me to list here) whih will in turn LOWER the overall costs of all of their products. Maybe this will "help" insurance companies to offer coverage of this much needed product and the insurance companies will be more receptive to the price.
It's also worth noting that hillrom does not make ONLY the vest. THey also produce acute care beds and accessories, architectural products and accessories, bariatric beds, therapy products, ciruclatory systems, Healthcare furniture, incontinence management products, infant care products, in-Room products.... and about 25 more products listed on the sheet.
I'm just curious what others are choosing to do and the opinions behind those decisions.
