I would say, there are always at least two sides!

Lottery may for some people be a glimpse of hope to get out of their bad sorroundment.
Many people do really need welfare and not because they are lazy.
Is it better to get every kid, no matter which disease you or the kid has and if you are able to raise it or if you have been abused?
Hows about death penalty and didn´t "our forefathers" also kill people?
Discipline children by beating them like "our forefathers"?
At least some politicians might try not to abuse their power.
"Our forefathers" did start wars to posess something like we do...
Didn´t men go to whores all the time? But in the past the whores had no rights at all...
Which "time honoured values"? Mankind has never really respected any...
or does he mean: Women back in the house etc.?

So I would be careful with too much enthusiasm... at least just because of one speech/prayer!

I think you totally missed the point Uli--nowhere does it say anything about "whores" or keeping "women in the house", there are plenty of Christian women who work outside the home.
Yes, welfare is sometimes necessary--but shouldn't be expected as a "free ride". It used to be that the safest place for a baby was in his/her mother's womb, now it's the deadliest. If you can kill a baby because it's not "perfect", than why is it murder once it's out of the womb?
Freedom of speech should not be that a man is allowed to explain how to seduce a young boy, or girl, on the internet, or that our children should hear foul language in a park or restaurant. When I grew up, men did not swear in front of "ladies", or women and children. Now it's everywhere.
And why do you think "disciplining our children" means beating them??? We have children who don't know the meaning of the word "no", because some parents never use it.
The basic ideas of honoring God, your mother and father, your wife/husband, your country, your workplace, your school, your friends--have become lost--that is what he was talking about.

Maybe you missed my point which just is:
I wouldn´t be too enthusiastic about a man just knowing one speech/prayer of him, because you can see (this prayer) as positive like you did or as another kind of "political talk" where it may not be so positive as it seems but as negative as I tried to explain ( what could be the meaning too)
Oh and when I mentioned the whores I wanted to compare them to pornography which he mentions, because I don´t think there is soooo much difference...
Especially in the name of "honoring god" so many bad things have happened and still do...
