Well, the good news is, I'm not the only one.
The bad news is, I'm not the only one.

Grrrrr. Like we all agree, we are grateful to live in a state that even has this program...but -
I don't know whether to go postal, or be on my knees bowing in their honor.

Thanks for letting me know you've experienced the same frustrations.
I was hoping there was a place we could turn to to air our greivances and maybe gets things to improve. Guess we're S.O.L.

(j/k about the postal part - my ex was a gov postal employee who'd go postal on me, so I had to throw that in)

aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaggggggggggggggggggggghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

Doesn't it make you want the government to run healthcare all together? The federal government does such a great job running the Post Office, DMV, etc., running healthcare should be just as amazing

I feel ya.

In my experience with them, the majority of times everything comes through smoothly enough and I get the meds/hospital stays, etc covered in a timely manner and paid 100% in the end. I see it like Wheezie said, you have to take the good with bad since what they do offer is awesome!

Those times when I wait and wait and wait for them to approve a med while I wait some more, I end up calling and talking to my case manager and tell them 'how it is!' You have to get very firm with your case manager at those crucial times or else you will continue to wait. That's the only way I've found to expedite a situation, and it does work if you get stern with them -- but not with the front desk person (they rarely know much), you have to communicate directly with your newly assigned CM. I seem to get reassigned a new CM about 1x/year. They obviously have a high turn around rate. I've even told them that "I'm struggling to breath right now, I need this medicine approved TODAY or else I'll be going in the hospital and that will cost A LOT more!" They listen to that type of thing. You just have to push them sometimes --- it's always been that way.

They explained it to me before that they're always short handed at the office and have a huge amount of patients so they're constantly struggling to stay up to bat with everyone. At least they're there though!!!!

Good luck.
