Has anyone heard of our thyroids being affected by CF? I saw my primary care doctor today and she said my thyroid felt a little enlarged. So she pulled some blood to check it out.

Mine was always large when I was young...as an adult it was finally checked and my levels were abnormal. I went on medication...it got larger. Had an ultrasound-they found nodules(many of them) Finally, it was decided that it should be removed...so all of my left side was removed and 3/4 of my right side was removed in May 2000.

Im not sure if it plays a role in Cf or not. But i think it gets really out of wack after having kids, thats what happened to me 4 months after having my daughter. They felt lumps in it so they did and ultrasound and biopsy. and found that my right side had cancer so they took the whole thyroid and some lymph nodes. All is well now and I take synthroid everyday. My ENT doctors are who found it.
