Wow! I wish I could participate. I don't meet the requirements for any studies though because of the cepacia.

I think it sounds like a great opportunity, but that's something only you can decide. It sounds as if you have thought it through and know the potential obstacles.

Is it something you could use with an e-flow? (or at least do the hypertonic saline that way?) That would really make the treatment times fast and not as invasive to your schedule.

Nicole,
I'm currently doing it for a full year. It is a bit of a commitment with all the visits and 3xday treatments, but they give you two free compressors, neb equipment and a charger to use it in the car. I actually found it easy to do the first and second treatments, it's the last one that I always have trouble making myself do! As for Becki's comment about the e-flow, I'm pretty sure they require you do it with the equipment they give you. But they seem to be flexible. I'm traveling to Italy in March for 9 days and did not want to have to deal with it. They're willing to let me just "skip" it for that time period as long as I start right back up when I get home.

I'm a big fan of studies and participating in them, so I say go for it!

I'd say go for it! As long as your FEV1 is stable and your pretty sure you'll stay that way for the next year or so, so you go on to have your second kid. What could it hurt? I know theres unexpected bumps in the road that us cf'ers don't plan for but it your pretty stable I think it should be a good thing. =)

I would do it but my fev's are to low <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-sad.gif" border="0">

I also try and do studies to help when I can.
