Time between CPT sessions

When DS was a baby and got a cough and we upped his CPT from 3x to 4 times, DH would get up at 2, to give him an extra treatment. We try to allow at least 4 hours between treatments 'cuz he gets duoneb. But normally we do cpt/vest at 6 a.m., 5:15 p.m. and 10 p.m.

Oh and DS usually slept of fell asleep during CPT -- he still sleeps thru the early morning one and doesn't get up for school until 7:30 a.m.

I'm not a doctor and I don't claim to have perfect knowledge on this . . . but my initial thought is to keep in mind that the fight against CF is a marathon not a sprint. You will exhaust yourself if you break up your sleep as a normal ongoing schedule and then you will be of no help to Ellie. So long as she is doing well and isn't struggling to breathe, I think splitting the sessions through the waking hours is completely reasonable and still very proactive of you.

Thanks - you have been so helpful! I think we got stuck into the routine of CPT so late because it coincided with one of her feedings. We'll see how it goes...if her weight isn't up at her next visit, then we may continue with our current routine. Until then, we'll let her sleep! <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">
