Tips to teach them to swollow enzymes w/o applesauce

My girls are both on cotazyme 8 (little beads in a capsule). Just curious how I can go about trying to teach Alysa (3.5 years old) how to take her enzymes without applesauce. We are having trouble because as soon as the capsule gets wet (or she bites into it) the beads get all over her mouth and if some are left in there - she will get sours. Chewing them and swollowing them is out of the question because she is not supposed to break the beads

Any tips?

Here's what we do and have been doing since Alyssa was about 18 months old: we open the capsule carefully and dump the beads into her mouth and then she takes a sip of a drink (I try to use apple juice to give the same effect as applesauce) and wash them down. She doesn't chew them and doesn't have any problem doing this for four pills. It is easy peasy!!!

Ok this is going to sound crazy!

My daugther started swallowing them whole (all at once too) at 20 mos.

Here are two ways to try it:

I was out and did not have applesauce and she was eating chips. So I got desperate and showed her how to swallow them by doing it myself. She thought it was really funny that mommy was taking enzymes, and I bet her she couldn't do it. And she did.

Another time we were at the movies and did not have any applesauce. So I took a straw from my drink, got some sprite in it by holding the top with my finger. I put the enzyme beads in the bottom of the straw by holding it upward. I then put the straw in her mouth and released the beads straight down her throat. It was so easy!

Try these and if they don't work just keep it up. A friend of mine's daugter took until first grade to swallow them whole. Some just learn it sooner than others.

Good luck!

Thanks I dont mind doing the applesauce thing because we have to do it for Kiana anyway but I thought this might be easier for her.
