Tobi and teeth

I am doing Tobi right now and was just thinking about how the prolongued use of antibiotics basically rots your teeth out of your head. Does anyone know if we should be rinsing our mouths out after we inhale Tobi? I was just curious. I guess I do anyway simply because of the nasty after taste I often get with the medication, but I wonder if it would help protect the teeth.

Although thinking about it further, I guess the thing is antibiotics cause dry mouth and dry mouth hurts teeth... am I right?

Yes, rinse your mouth after every inhaled antibiotic. My doctor told me to do this. TOBI and other inhaled antibiotics stain my teeth. I rinse hard with water.

Oh I agree, rinse your mouth! I posted about a similar topic a bit ago regarding crappy teeth. The meds that we are on are harsh, the IV's have done the most damage to my teeth...they have gotten much softer and they are stained, almost brownish in some areas. I use a non alcoholic based rinse, I can't tolerate the ones that have it because my mouth is just too sensitive. I get lots of sores so salt gargles help are used for that problem. My mouth is also very dry too, even after drinking lots of water. The docs actually tested me for an auto immune disease- Sjogren's disease- that has the symptoms of excessively dry mouth, eyes and other mucosa. All has been chalked up to my meds. I rinse my mouth with salted water to get rid of any abx residue, and also, help my saliva be a little more normal. It's sort of like gargling with HS!
