Thank you for all the replies. I have not heard back from my nurse. I left her a vm this am. I personally feel that I would rather not take the ab since I am healthy. I have never typically taken or cycled any ab's. I took tobi last winter b/c I was sick, but that was the first time I was on ab for my lungs in 10 years (which is such a blessing).

Anyway, I will see what the dr. office says as well as get my DH's opinion. DH tends to error on the side of being extra cautious for me which I always view as being more dangerous (taking an ab when showing no signs of infection).

Thanks again to everyone!

First I'll tell you what I did then I'll tell you IMHO what you should do.

I took Tobi during 2nd and 3rd trimesters and got blood level checked (peak) to see how much was in my blood. It was not even the recommended amount so I felt safe knowing that baby was safe. I was concerned enough to do this because I suffer from hemoptysis and worried that with a direct access point in my lungs for it to hit my blood stream that somehow I may be different.

My doctor was not like Christian's but rather proactive to a fault at protecting my health almost. He did care about the baby but first and foremost was my health. His philosophy was that basically keep mom healthy and baby will be healthy. He didn't wince at keeping me on Tobi but he did try to stretch my off month during first trimester for as long a possible.

If I were you I wouldn't use it. I'm assuming you feel fine and are not at all exacerbating. At the first sign of a PA flare up though I'd be doing it. Do you even culture PA with an FEV1 of 100%?

Lauren
31 yr old female with cf, mom to 2.5 yr old son with cf too! No complication pregnancy, vaginal birth. LOVED being pregnant :) Felt the best I ever have.

Hello,
I spoke with my dr. today and she advised to hold off since I am so close to IUI. She also said that they'd advise not to take it during the first trimester, but, if necessary, would consider it for 2nd or 3rd trimesters.

LouLou - I do culture PA (2 strains, 1 mucoid) and have been since 1999. Wow, ten years I guess.

Our clinic just got the h1n1 vaccines this week Thursday so I got my shot today. Our CD13 ultrasound (today) showed two follicles on the right side (17 & 20), and one on the left (19 mm). Everything looked good so we triggered this morning at 9 am, and have the iui scheduled for 10am tomorrow.

Thanks for all of your help everyone - keep us in your thoughts & prayers!
