thanks all, good to know. He did OK for the first 10-12 days and for the last few has been a little raspy but it seems to be improving now. I'm not sure how long they will keep him on tobi. he will finish this 28 day cycle and I guess we will follow up with his pulmonary doc next month. He is also on azithromycin Mon,Wed and Fridays (not sure how long he will do this). The doctors explained that this was more for its anti-inflammatory response in CF patients as opposed to the anti-biotic use. The rasp started around the time he started this, but I think I just blamed the tobi, maybe it was something else...

Most likely it was the TOBI. You will notice his voice sounding raspy, or even that he loses his voice, from time to time on all of the nebs he will take over time. But a raspy voice is a small price to pay for the meds available to us today!<img src="i/expressions/present.gif" border="0">

I also wanted to mention that my son is on azithromycin MWF as well. He also is on 10mg of prednisone every other day as maintenance. He will remain on these indefinitely. I can't say they have prevented exacerbations, but I do feel they help him on a regular basis. Before he had them he seemed to have more severe allergic reactions.

Good luck to you! I know it is all so much to digest in the beginning!
