Tobi Program Frustation

As with everyone else got notified late last year that we'd only be able to get Tobi via a drug company approved mail order pharmacy. I had reservations because when we dealt with CF Services Pharmacy before it was very frustrating -- promised shipments not sent, screwed up billing. But mainly the constant worry each month as to whether or not we'd receive our shipment of Tobi as promised or if we'd have to call numerous time. So I filled out the enrollment forms, attached copies of our insurance info and handed it to the nurse at our clinic for the doctor to fill out and.... Several weeks later.... No word regarding where we're supposed to obtain the tobi... Clinic is trying to track it down, people aren't responding to phone calls --- apparently someone called my husband yesterday on his cell and he gave them my number, but NOBODY called me. So we need Tobi by Wednesday and I'm planted at my desk waiting for the phone to ring again after leaving messages again this morning.... Argh!!!!!

Tobi podhaler

Have you started the process for TOBI Podhaler, yet? If you apply before August 2013, copay is free. After August 2013, it's $10. It requires forms to be filled out online by both patient and Dr. I just applied earlier this week. Hoping to get it soon :) www.TOBIPODHALER.com Good Luck!

I did ask DS' doctor about the podhaler and he wanted to wait awhile before seeing about prescribing it. See how others do on it, reviews, etc. I did hear back from the clinic and they said they forwarded all the info on to Tobi Care right after we were there over two weeks ago. So they were going to try to get ahold of a human at Tobi Care and see what was going on. Check our CF Services Pharmacy account and there's nothing there.... Ugh!

Wow, I'm so sorry you're having so much trouble with CFF services pharmacy. We've only ever had one delay in delivery and it was UPS's fault. When Novartis changed over to their new pharmacy system with TOBI, we waited and waited and finally asked the clinic why they couldn't just send the script to CFF since that is where we were going to get it anyway since it was an in network pharmacy for us. They said they'd try and see, since we already got Cayston from them, they should fill it with no issues. They filled it and we never heard from Novartis again... (knock on wood, no issues) I hope things improve and you get the TOBI in time. OH, and I think my daughter's filling location is AZ or maybe it's San Antonio, one or the other.

Finally got ahold of someone at Tobi care -- they said they were waiting for a 2nd signature from the doctor -- he was supposed to sign twice; however, nobody bothered to contact the clinic. The doctor will be in this afternoon, so the nurse will have him sign it and then will fax it herself. Hopefully, I can get the script filled and delivered as he needs it by Wednesday. Ugh!

We had the same issues. Not only did we find a cvs pharmacy that we can get tobi they keep it on hand abd can fill it immediately. Our regular pharmacy also went through the process and can also fill tobi. which is great because they are closer to us than the cvs. They just normally need 24 hours to get it. They fill all our daughters scripts weAre very thankful they got their approval. we have no desire to starr our daughter on the new inhaler. Why change when what we are doing works for something that is still in its beginning phase. Lots if luck. If your in the fortworth texas area I can give you phone numbers.

Thanks. I WISH we could go through our regular pharmacist, whose a relative; however, he got notification that it has to go thru Novartis' preapproved pharmacies. I live in the middle of nowhere and state law indicates all pharmacies have to be individually owned -- so no major chains --- walgreens, target, cvs, walmart.... One of my friends gets theirs thru U of MN, but we go to a different center.

Have your doctor send the prescription directly to Foundation Care pharmacy. They will handle all the enrollment, insurance, etc. They always call me right back as well. Great service and they really know CF. 314-291-1122 or www.foundcare.com

Unfortunately, dealing with CF Services is nothing short of a nightmare.

I should add that I've had a couple of good situations with CF Services, but the other 20 have not been as positive.

Got a call from a completely different mail order pharmacy. Prime Therapeutics. Supposedly will be delivered via UPS tomorrow, so he'll miss his morning dose for sure, hopefully will get it in time for the evening one.

Package was waiting for us when I got home from work last night. Gotta love those pharmacy icepacks -- still frozen! So he just missed his morning dose and hopefully now that everything is set up, there won't be any delivery issues. They indicated they'd call a week before he's due for a refill. One thing I find ironic is that Prime Therapeutics Pharmacy is a branch of our insurance. Our prescription drug plan is through Prime. Also, although we are only responsible for a $15 copay once we meet out of pocket Max of $1000, I thought it also interesting that since we last ordered from our local pharmacy this spring, the price jumped from $6000 to $8000. Wowsa!
