Welcome I would suggest posting this in the family section as well since she is 4 and you might find some parents with similar stories. Tobi wasn't around when a lot of us were younger. You also might start a new topic in the adult section instead of riding on this old topic that was started a while ago

I can tell you that some find Tobi difficult to take. For me it made me SOB and wheezy. I started on Tobi after a dx of pneumonia a few years ago and I always found it difficult to take. I have since stopped it and replaced it with the AZLI that is hopefully coming out soon for all CFers. I think that just the whole inhaling abx is just bound to be irritating for some of us.

Does your daughter do some kind of bronchodialator prior to doing the Tobi....you might ask about that if not. Tobi does have some great benefits for some....but, for some who take it the benefits just do not outweigh the side effects that are caused. For me that was the case and there are others who will say the same.

For years I did TOBI on and off one month but then I started feeling worse the months I was on. I had them do PFTs before the TOBI month and then at the end and my lung function dropped by the end of the month. I don't think I'm resistant to it (I can still do IV Tobra to an extent) so I just don't think it helps me. I usually was very wheezy at the end of the month. So they switched me to colistin all the time. It's a pain to mix but I've tried to go off of it to see the difference and I felt way better on the colistin; more stamina and productive coughing.
