Our clinic gave out an instruction sheet on the order of treatment. They suggest...
Albuterol first (or other bronchiodialtor)
Pulmozyme
Wait at least 30 minutes after pulmozyme to do CPT or Vest
After CPT/VEST then to TOBI

Sean, you can get a convertor thing at Target or Wal-Mart for like $10. It converts your cars cigarette lighter to just a standard electric plug. I have one and use my nebulisor on it frequently. They are in the car section of those kinds of stores. Work pretty slick and cheaper and faster than replacing any of your existing nebs.

On the topic of this car converter, has anyone tried it with the vest? I have a 10 year daughter just diagnosed in the last 3 months and we have 5 children. Our lives have slowed down a little bit, but I don't want this to get us down or deterr us from doing anything. We're in the car alot and thought it might be convenient to do the neb and vest in the car. Any comments?

I am thinking so because it is a 3 prong plug which might be a problem. Does the car converter change to a 2 prong or 3 prong plug? That alone would be an answer. However; I would think as long as the car is running that it should be fine since the juice is constantly going instead of draining directly from the battery source.

Carol,
Have you looked into getting the Acapella? That's what my daughter uses when we need to do treatments in the car.

If you search this site, there should be a thread on this already. But basically it is a fat, round, plastic tube device that you blow into. It has a mechanism inside that vibrates, causing your chest wall to vibrate and loosen the mucus. You go through a series of blows then cough. Repeat 3 or so times until you feel the mucus has cleared. But like I said, do a search and you should come up with some more info.
