DH says when he sits with DS while he does tobi that his nose and throat burn/feel scratchy. And sometimes when he first starts it, I notice his voice sounds a little froggy, but it goes away.

If you DO have ringing in your ears, contact your doctor asap, as per the product info which comes with your tobi. It's NOT just the IV Tobra that can cause issues with hearing.

I take Tobi every other month. To be honest when I take it I feel like I'm trying to breath underwater. The worse side effect I get is I cough like a champ for the first three days. As for the ringing in your ears you should defiantly call your Doc and mention something could be a reaction with different med's. Best of luck.

M tends to have nosebleeds with his Tobi. As we're getting all of his medical issues under control, we're seeing less of it. But, if he's going to get a nosebleed, its going to be while on Tobi.

My daughter experienced a change in her voice when she started TOBI. She already has a deep voice, but it got even deeper and scratchier. It returned to normal when she stopped at the end of the month. She also got more nosebleeds, but that could be the Veramyst, which she started at the same time.

She is not quite four, so she can't describe in more detail how it effected her, but after reading these posts, I think I understand her reaction to TOBI a bit more. She really did not like having to take it. I thought it was just the amount of extra time, but I wonder now if she was experiencing some of these other effects.

According to the fine print that comes with TOBI package, ringing in the ears is still listed as a side effect to watch for. However, we did not get the same sort of warnings about that side effect with the inhaled TOBI as we did when my other daughter went on the IV version of the drug.
