Tons of mucus in stool...

I think I have mentioned this before... When DS had his bowel obstruction two years ago, they tried golytely, miralax...and finally mucomyst. Mucomyst is old school -- U of MN still has some of their patients neb it to cut mucus, some take it orally for the NAC benefits. I know of a local family whose child was so incredibly pancreatic insufficient that his enzymes were at his maximum and they started giving him mucomyst orally to help cut the mucus in the digestive tract. I hear it DOES smell like roten eggs. I didn't really notice as they put it down DS' ng tube during his hospitalization.

I asked the cf doc if he knew of anything that would help and he said no but would ask his GI colleagues. I will ask about the mucomyst. Thanks everyone and if you think of anything else, please let me know.
