I was just wondering how long it took people to eat whole foods again. I had the surgery on Wednesday, and its all I can do to eat broth and pudding and alike foods. I can't even swallow sliva with out it really hurting. The pain meds don't seem to help a lot, they just make me spacy, but the pain is completely there.

My moms comming over tonight, so maybe she has some ideas. There's nothing like you mom taking care of you, I'm usually not such a baby though, but it really hurts.

I had the hick-ups yesterday, ugh that killed. <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-sad.gif" border="0">

You think hiccups are bad... Don't SNEEZE!

I really didn't eat solid foods until after a week. Pretty much had tepid soup with mushed up crackers, my mom made me homemade custard, Hubby would take me out for vanilla soft serve ice cream and the neighbor brought me some Ben & Jerry's. Lots of ice and popscicles. When I ate, I was so NOT used to swallowing with all the extra room where my tonsils had been, I ate tiny bites, very slowly and constantly washed the food down with tepid water when the pain hit.

I sometimes would lay with an icepack on my throat and that would make me feel better.

Can you contact your doctor and tell them the pain meds aren't doing it for you? I think I had a big orange bottle of liquid codeine/tylenol. And some times it even hurt to take that.
