Travel Nebulizer Advice

Hello,

I'm fairly new to this forum and was wondering if anyone could recommend a good travel nebulizer. My 4 year old daughter lives in a different state and we have to travel by plane when she visits, so I need something that can withstand travel abuse and can also be operated by battery power when plugging in is not practical (airports/cars/etc). Her original neb is a little bulky for travel and seems to be operating less efficiently every time, so this will serve as her primary nebulizer at home too. I've found a couple battery/car cigarette lighter plug in/wall plug in nebs, but thought some people here might have some personal recommendations and shopping advice (what to look for/look out for) before I commit to purchasing one.

We're still kind of new to everything so any and all advice would be greatly appreciated.

i have a pari trek that i toted all over europe in a backpack and it was great. it took some mild abuse on trains and roaming around cities and stuff but it worked wonderfully. its really easy to charge and the battery is really strong for several treatments and then as the power begins to go down the treatment time takes longer so you know its time to charge...definitely recommed it. the one i have is several years old and it actually a little bigger than the one in the picture on the link candice provided, so the newer one looks even more convenient to pack!

I have a Pari Trek S too (with the battery pack) that I keep in my car and use on the way to the pool 2 days a week, and whenever else it is more convienent to do it in the car instead of waiting for when I get home. However, it is not strong enough to make the particle size of Pulmozyme and Tobi (or other inhaled antibiotics) as small as the recommendations say. However, I do use it every once in a while if it is a "Trek or nothing" situation.

What nebulizer do you have now? My main nebulizer is a Pari Proneb Ultra II. It is pretty compact, and while I have had to have it replaced a couple of times, this last replacement seems to be working fine (it has a 5 year warranty, so no problem with getting it replaced <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif" border="0"> ). Some people buy a power inverter(?) to plug their Ultra II into the cig lighter in the car, but I don't remember what one you need...If I go on vacation, I take both my Trek and my Ultra II. That way, I can use my Trek whenever I need to use it<i> now</i>, but I use my Pari when I am not out and about.
