You can definitely travel post transplant. I have to been to many places within the US since my transplant (including flying back and forth to New Orleans my first year) and then I went to Cabo San Lucas in October for a wedding. I was fine. If you are flying out of the country, it's a pain to do but make sure your meds are in their original containers. I dind't get stopped going in or out of Mexico but if I did and had my meds pulled into separate containers, they could have been taken away. So that is just a safeguard. I've never worn a mask on a plane. The last time I wore a mask was around 4 years ago. Lindsay it's quite possible you caught something Vegas and not on the plane.

Travel away!

You won't need to be within 50 miles of your transplant center...believe me. I live in NY and my center is in Ohio, about 400 miles away from me.

Since the transplant, I have travelled to WA (state), NC, VA, NH, and this September I will be going to OK. The only thing I was told was to wear a mask when I'm travelling on a plane because it's not vented the whole time you're in there and you don't know if someone is sick or not. So far, the only trip that required a plane was the one to WA and I did fine with that. I'll be going on a plane again when I go to OK.

It's so much easier to travel after the transplant!
