traveling with meds

Hello - What do people do about traveling with nebulizers and other prescription drugs? I'm worried they won't let me on the place with the nebs, but that the nebs will freeze and burst if I pack them in my check in bag. What do you all do? Thanks.

Always put your nebs and meds in your carry on because if the luggage gets lost you are SOL.

As far as traveling with all of it I have never had any issues. I always just keep all the meds and stuff in one bag and my real carry on in another. I am pretty sure meds in a carry on (just meds and medical stuff) does not count towards your carry on amount because it is a necessity. Could be wrong, but check with your airline.

We just got back from Disney World on Monday and had absolutely no problems getting through security with all our stuff. I took all meds in one ziploc bag, Pulmozyme in a small cooler with ice packs, nebulizer machine and the Hill Rom Vest. THe nebulizer has to be in its own plastic bin to go through x-ray machine, you also have to remove the the actual vest compressor (machine part) out of the bag and place it in its own separate plastic bin to got through the x-ray, they did a small test on each piece of equipment and asked me what the nebulizer compressor was flying out of Indy, but that was it. Flying back in Orlando, security never even asked me about any of it. I did have anote from my doctor stating that we needed to bring all meds and equipment on the flight, but never even needed to show it to anyone. It was way easier to get through security then I ever thought it would be, so try not to worry too much!!
