Traveling with Pulmozyme

Beware of asking for a frigde....My family and I went on vacation to the Bahamas and it was like 500 bucks to rent the fridge for a week. We said screw it and just stole ice from the machine like three times a day and would put the pulmo in the ice bucket. The ice would melt through the day, but the meds never got warm enough to warrant us to worry. We kept the cover on the ice bucket so the cool air stayed in the bucket. It worked out very well and was cheaper

I was told that Pulmozyme and be stored outside of the fridge for up to 18 hours at room temp so if your worry is the transport time to CA then I'd say you're "ok". Not sure how the airlines feel about fridge packs/ice in your carry on. I suspect they're off limits.

Once you get to the hotel or wherever you're staying using ice to keep it cool should suffice if a fridge isn't available.

. . . fridge packs/ice in your carry on. I suspect they're off limits..</end quote>

Nope, blue ice is allowed on airlines for medication. I fly all the time including internationally and it's never a problem even recently with the new carry on liquid guidelines.

Besides blue ice, I use a FRIO cooler marketed to diabetics. Clicky.

It does a good job of keeping things cool enough until you can refrigerate properly.
