Anyone have any trouble getting prilosec or prevacid suspension filled? They put my daughter on prevacid but Rite Aid says only a specialty compound pharm. can mix up the suspension, so they wrote me a script for prilosec instead but still no luck. The CF nurse called around and the closest compound pharm they can find near me (out here in the sticks) is 45 minutes away.

I remember my son was on prilosec for a few months 3-4 years ago and we just got it filled at CVS, no problems. I can get it filled at the pharm across the street from the CF center, but the center is over an hour away and with my insurance, they will only fill one month at a time.

Prevacid & Prilosec have to be compounded. Basically, this just means that the mfg does not make it in a liquid form.

You have to have a compounding pharmacy that can take the solid med and turn it into a liquid (compound it).

I'm not sure what you can do if there is not a compounding pharmacy near as that will be the only way to get it...

One thought, maybe someone on her can confirm but I think CF Services Pharmacy (CFF) does compounding, so they might be able to fill the script. Just a possible idea.

Pharmaceutical Specialists, the CF pharmacy that does the e-flow is a compounding pharmacy. They can take your script for Prilosec or Prevacid, compound it and ship it to you. Your only other option if you can't find a local compounding pharmacy is Prevacid solutab.
