Trouble spots in your lungs

Yeah I do the same tricks to sleep without coughing, ie: sitting up and or theraflu, but I was really more interersted to figure out if others cough more on one side then the other like I do. I was trying to make sense of it. Seems like it must be related to where all the junk pools in your lung, but I don't know. Sounds like some of you experience this too, where one side is better then the other. It's odd and didn't used to be this way, only in the past 4 or 5 years have I seen this happen. Oh well...

I don't have too much trouble with coughing while lying down, although I do notice that my right lung seems to be more cruddy than my left. I can always feel the junk coming up from the right side.

My lower right always has more "crackles". I sleep with 2 pillows and kind of propped up until I eventually sliiide down. If I lay right down, I am almost guarenteed an episode of hemoptysis. My mom (who I still listen to..lol) says it's part gravity (pulling all the stuff from our lungs down, like drainage) and part blood pressure changes. (she's an RN, but I don't beleive everything)

Anywho, as far as one side or the other...doesn't seem to make too much a difference for me..or.. I never noticed...I will start noticing <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">

I have noticed..as has my husband and college roomate...that I moan while I sleep...sounds very..um..lets say orgasmic...but not sure if it's CF related? ANyone else MOAN??

LGMClark-- I have found it definitely has to do with blood pressure changes (for me that is). As long as I keep my lungs level (propped up) then all stays pretty well.
To remedy some of the sliding down-- put a blanket or pillow under your knees.
