Well finally after a year, we have an appointment for my son at another cf clinic. A year ago, my son had a lot of gi issues and has always had the respiratory issues. We have been treated for everything from reflux to allergies to asthma. Nothing seems to fully help. We have an appointment with a ped gi specialist, of course that appt isn't until April. I took him to a cf clinic recommended by the cff about a year ago. It was a total waste of time. The doctor was extremely rude. He simply asked some question, did no examination. He informed me that patients do not have cf with a 29 and 47 sweat test. He assured me that my child did not have allergies, has now been tested and receives weekly allergy tests. He said that his pediatrician was leaning towards asthma, so that is what he will go with. He has been treated for "asthma" ever since. Now after a year of all the same stuff and antibiotics after antibiotics, a different ped. has decided to refer him to a different clinic. Hopefully we will have a better experience and things will get figured out. Don't get me wrong, fingers crossed for not having cf. Either way, I just would like to know so we can start treating the problem properly. Anybody use the cf clinic in New Orleans, LA?
