Tubal Ligation

I had my tubes tied and regret every minutes of it. I had a period for 18 months after having it done. I had just had my second daughter when they did it. I kept going to the doctor and they kept telling oh it was just hormone, at the year mark after having Hanna, I said when is this going to stop. They replied "This happens alot after having a tubal", call us in three months if it doesn't stop. Three months later called, they did a pelvic and could feel nothing, call us in three more months if it doesn't stop. Two months later I went to CF doc was horrible anemic and very sick with a lung infection, which he says is due to my hemoglobin being so low for so long, he stepped in and said something will be done and done soon. Sent me to another doc the next week I had an ablation of the uterus which also will prevent pregnancy. Sorry to ramble but just wanted to let you know what HE** I went through before you make the final decision.

i'm still unclear as to why you were bleeding for so long..... did you ever find out how it was related to the tubal?

I think I might be one of the rare ones who has decent periods in spite of CF. Of course, I didn't start it until I was almost 18, but even so, they've been like clockwork ever since. The birth control pill made my cycles absolutely crazy, so I went off them and opted for an IUD instead. I'm really happy with that and will be having it removed soon.

Good luck with the tubal. I hope it gives you some relief and peace of mind.

I don't have CF so I don't know if my answer will interest you. I did have a tubal ligation though. Immediately after, my periods got really heavy, longer, and closer together. I've talked to several other women who've had similiar experiences. None had CF though so not sure that helps....

Good luck!
