Hello,<br>

As I posted earlier, my son Silas is being tested for CF. He
definatly has most of the symptoms. My question is.... is the other
options then just the typical acid reflux meds? Silas had a awful
night last night took him over 2 hours to settle and I'm wondering
if the previcd is just not the right medication for him.
  Also is anyones kids on Ventiloin through a nebulizer?
and if so do they smell like medicine?<br>

My son takes zantac liquid for reflux. With reflux drugs I've read that there are 2 different categories depending on how they work in the stomach to control the acid - but I have no idea if prevacid and zantac work the same or different.

My daughter was diagnosed with cf about a year ago and she had very bad refux as well. We still use prevacid and now she is so much happier and she is acually sleeping through the night!!! For a while lilly (my daughter) would just cryand cry. I was going nuts. I also felt so bad for her, it does get better once they get the right dosages down. Also does your son throw up alot from the reflux??? because our Dr. milla put her on pregestimil or nutramigen. its a formula by enfamil and it kept her food down. Plus it also had 24 calories to help chunk him up!!!

same situation where he just cries and cries... its way worse at
night, so we end up sleeping the night in the rocking chair -- I
have tried elevating his crib... but it hasn't helped....  Its
been a long 15months with out a solid night of sleep!<br>

try a warm heating pad. That worked wonders when Josh was little
and still works now. He was using mylicon drops and than later
zantac or prevacid (both RX).
