My CF doc always insisted that they use a new nebulizer cup each time, but it is definitely your job to be sure the respiratory therapist is following through with it. Also, have your doctor put on the orders that you can be given CPT/albuterol treatment as needed in the night. That always gets forgotten my first night in and then I have to use my inhaler even though my nurses yell at me for it.

I would also suggest snacks/drinks you like. I used to even bring my own microwave and dorm fridge with me. When another CF pt passed away a few years ago her husband donated enough for the entire CF area since she always brought her own
I've known others to bring their own humidifier though you can ask for the hospital's odd little humidifier set-up which works just fine for me.
I always take my own blanket and pillow just to make it feel a little more home-y, but you do need to be careful to get them out of the way when getting meds and getting blood drawn. Or just takes ones you don't particularly mind getting stuff on.
Slippers or something like that is a must! Much better than walking on that cold floor.
At my center we exercise every day we're there, so you may need some tennis shoes and clothes that are comfortable to do some working out in.

Good luck! No worries...you'll get through this just fine Saying a prayer for you and your family and friends.

I think a lot depends on the hospital... Vandy here in Nashville is VERY... well... hospitable!
I take advantage of a tune-up as time to catch up on things I've been wanting to do. Books I've been wanting to finish, writing, emails, etc. Definitely take a laptop, books and all the things you keep saying "I'll get to one of these days".
As for essentials; toothbrush, toothpaste, regular toiletries, grungy flip-flops to wear in the shower... and.... pretty much everything else they have always provided for me!
I hope it goes well! Make this a good time for rest and peace!
