I hope things are going better in the morning for you when you wake up! I am so sorry Andrew is going through this rough time. I hope he can get back on track soon.
I just wanted you to know that this CF stress is overwhelming and causes many of us moms to cry when we're alone CF SUCK! {{{{{HUGS}}}}}

I agree with someone above take this time out for yourself as well, also let Andrew enjoy this time without his picc line he will be back on it soon enough. I grow MAC as well but I am adult woman 55 but still get so pissed off when it's IV time. MAC is a very strong bug and it grows, and loves nesting of the lung area. It sometimes is hard to get a handle on it. But know first and formost you are doing yr. job, don't blame yourself in any way, I read these posts from Moms and I say I don't know how you all do it? it is a very hard job, and although we have friends and family that support us, they really don't know how we struggle mentally at times. So first of all give yourself the credit you deserve, give Andrew his free time. Store the supplies in a bin for maybe a later use. This has happened to me many times with IV meds supplies and all of a sudden my liver of kidney numbers are jumping it's a wait and see. You are doing a great job and a postive attitude is the one that works best, and it's allright to have a breakdown occassionally, but in the closet of course.

I am so sorry you are going through this. I have a hard time , as well, doing nothing. I always feel like I have to fix the problem. Maybe this will be a time for Andrew's body to get a rest from the antibiotics and what can be done is pumping up his immune system with things like probiotics, healthy food, pushing fluids and rest. Maybe even planning something special he's wanted to do but couldn't because of the Picc and IV schedule.

I also have difficulty getting time for myself, especially when my child is not well. I don't know if I feel guilty or just unable to relax but whatever. Two thing that help me are reading a juicy book(like a real chic author) and or going for a run with my ipod blasting.

We are here for you!
