I know I havent been on here to long and it been a while since I posted. But I just wanted to let everyone know I got my double lung transplant 3/16/2011 - It was amazing and relatively easy process. I was discharged 3/31/11 and now I am home working out and loving life.

Lex - I tried to beat your 6 days but wasnt doable haha but i was extubated in the first 24 hours which made me happy.

Currently I am doing about 2 miles in under an hour with an O2 sat of 98% UNREAL!!!!

Awesome news! What hospital?

If I may ask, in the first picture you have posted, is that a port in your neck? I don't have a port, so not familiar with what they look like.

Congratulations on your successful surgery and good luck with your continued recovery!

NY Columbia Presbyterian - Amazing place!!! Its not a port ... Its was what ever they decided to put in me while I was out haha - Honestly I dont know what it is called but its a direct line into vein -- It was taken out within the day I woke up though

Ldude916, the line in chuckstyl5's neck is just a central line, basically a picc in the neck. They usually take it out after a few days when you arent on so many IVs. Then again I had a port, one of those central lines and an IV...going in I only had the port accessed, they did the other two while I was under.

Who was the surgeon? I was supposed to get Bacchiatta a couple times, and then Sonett got the nod.

Congrats Charlie! You can still try and beat Tim's other record and do the NYC Marathon less than one year post! haha
So happy for you! Hope you continue to have a smooth recovery!
